ATSC/NTSC/QAM digital tuning allows for tuning of standard cable channels as well as both
digital and analog over-the-air broadcasts, in addition to digital
"cable-in-the-clear" broadcasts. SD Bridge Recording lets you easily record
programming received from the built-in tuner onto VHS tape in standard resolution. DivX
Home Theater Certified allows playback of DivX, AVI and MPEG4 compressed files downloaded
from the internet to a personal computer and stored on a CD-R/RW. * VIDEO - ATSC/NTSC
& QAM Digital Television Tuners ATSC is the 8VSB (8-level Vestigial Sideband
Modulation) system. This is the digital TV broadcast system chosen by the ATSC (Advanced
Television Systems Committee) for broadcast TV in the USA. QAM (Quadrature Amplitude
Modulation) is the digital TV system chosen by the U.S. Cable TV companies for use over
digital cable. Toshiba integrated digital TVs have both ATSC and QAM digital tuning
capability so that you can receive terrestrial digital broadcasts as well as digital
"cable-in-the-clear" broadcasts. - Digital Comb Filter Chrominance and Luminance
signals are converted to a digital medium prior to separation and 2H delay. This process
provides enhanced color purity and reduced dot crawl. Vertical and diagonal correction
performed in a digital medium provides highly accurate Chrominance and Luminance signal
separation. - FST PURE 4:3 (480i) Flat Tube Design Due to its flat design, viewing angle
and picture linearity are greatly improved over traditional tube designs, delivering the
most accurate, life-like images possible. - JPEG Viewer Enables the display of digital
photographs captured in the JPEG format. Simply load the CD with your favorite photos and
create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control. * AUDIO
- Double Baffle Stereo Speaker System These front-firing, side-mounted speakers deliver
the best stereo sound by keeping the sonic image widely separated within the cabinet. -
StableSound Eliminates the annoyance of normal program volume being followed immediately
by extremely loud commercial messages or drastic volume fluctuations while changing
channels. * CONVENIENCE - 8 Event/1 Month Programming This new on-screen programming
system uses a menu of visual icons to provide point-and-click recording simplicity. - Auto
Power Off If broadcast signal is not detected during previous fifteen minutes, a Toshiba
television will turn itself off automatically. - Closed Captioning Dialog is displayed on
screen in a manner similar to subtitles in movies. - Commercial Skip for VCR After a
program has been recorded, pressing the SKIP button once during playback will
automatically advance the tape 30-seconds forward bypassing recorded commercials. Pressing
the skip button on the remote again will advance the recorded tape for another 30-seconds
for a total of 60-seconds (30 sec x 6 Maximum). - Icon TV/VCR/DVD Menu Offers simple
operation by using picture symbols of key menu functions instead of plain text. Quickly
access various TV features via pull down menus. - One-Touch Record Simplifies setup of
timer for recording within a 24-hour period. One button starts record and allows setting
of record length. - Picture Preference Modes Includes preset picture settings tailored for
various programs and allows quick adjustments at the touch of a button. Instead of
accessing Brightness, Contrast, Color, or Tint each time you switch from a movie to a
sporting event, use the preset Picture Preference Modes (Standard, Sports, Movie, Memory)
to change the quality of the picture without all the fuss. The Memory Mode allows you to
customize your own settings and save them into the television's memory. - Sleep Timer
(analog only) The Sleep Timer allows you to fall asleep watching TV and have the TV turn
itself off up to three hours later (in 10-minute intervals). - Tri-Lingual On-screen
Display Allows viewers to read menu selections in three different languages (English,
French, and Spanish) to ensure user-friendly programming. - V-Chip Parental Control System
(analog only) This feature allows adults to decide which show ratings are appropriate for
their children. The television will then block out the video and audio of any program that
has a rating beyond the selected level. Adults can override the system at any time using
